Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where can I find your products?
A. Many factors such as consumer demand, distribution channels and ultimately the retailer’s choice of what products to stock affect the availability of a product at any given time. Selected Richardson Mint products are available through Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, BJ’s, Publix, Albertson’s, and a number of other quality retailers. If you do not see an item that you would like to purchase at your favorite store we suggest asking the store manager or their assistant if it can be ordered for you. You may also e-mail us at info@richardsonbrands.com if you have any further questions.

Q. Can I buy products directly from the company?
A. Certainly.  You can place your order through our website:  www.richardsonbrands.com

Q. Do your products contain nuts?
A. Unless nuts are listed in a products ingredient statement, the product does not contain nuts. However, our manufacturing facilities do process nuts so it is possible that trace amounts of nuts and/or nut products could be present in our products.

Q.Does Richardson Brands comply with FDA listing of allergens in their ingredients?
A. Richardson products are compliant with FDA regulations so when they contain potential allergens such as milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts (e.g.almonds, walnuts and pecans), soy or wheat; those allergens are clearly noted in the product's ingredients statement using the common name of the potential allergen.

Q. If Richardson Butter Mints contain “real butter” how can they also be “fat free”?
A. Ingredient statements listed on Richardson Butter Mints packaging partially addresses this question with a footnote stating that the butter used in the formulation “adds a dietary insignificant amount of fat”. Butter Mints actually contain 0.78 grams of fat per serving.
However, FDA guidelines consider any product with less than 1 gram of fat per serving to be fat free.

Q. Do you offer Kosher products?
A. Yes, all the products we manufacture are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union

Q. Are Richardson Mint products gluten free?
A. Richardson Gourmet Mints contain wheat flour, while Butter Mints contain oat flour so these products are not gluten-free. Pastel Mints, Jelly Mints are processed on the same equipment so it is possible that they carry trace amounts of these same ingredients and then would also not be gluten-free.

A. The National Confectioner Association website www.candyusa.org is a great resource for information on candy history, statistics, recipes, trivia, nutrition and other fun stuff for kids.
